For Design & Creative Leaders

You got genuinely good at what you do by developing your vision, judgement, intution, craft, and a standard for what good means to you. That’s the thing that made you, you. It’s also what can make leadership hard in a specific way.

Most designers who become leaders don’t want to stop making work, but the further you go, the more your vision has to travel through other people, other decisions, and meetings you don’t have time to join. The instincts that made you successful haven’t disappeared but they can’t operate the way they used to. You’re translating vision into direction, judgement into criteria, conviction into a culture that needs to hold when you’re not there to cultivate it.

This tension won’t ever fully resolve, but it can evolve.

Our work is about helping you lead from what you are, not despite it. How your intuition becomes scalable and how your vision becomes communicable. How your standard becomes something a team can actually work within.

The Approach

Coaching is a thinking and feeling relationship. The job of coaching isn’t to supply you with answers, it’s to create conditions that enable you to build a habit of finding them on your own.

Part of that work is sense-making: helping you see more clearly what’s actually happening versus what you’ve been telling yourself may be happening. Creating awareness of what matters and/or understanding why certain things feel harder than they should. Getting underneath the narratives and internal conflicts that keep you working in circles.

The other side is more embodied: tracking what you feel, what your instincts and intuition are telling you and where something is landing in the body. Sometimes the mind can’t access what the body experiences and that space is often where more honest information lives.

Every engagement is shaped by where you are and what you’re after. The direction, pace, and focus are specific to you. What stays consistent is the work’s orientation toward clarity, honesty, and progress.
